This Day in History — ‘The A-Team’ Debuted on TV

This Day in History A Team
On this day in 1983, we learned a valuable moral lesson about human compassion from a very large, loud man in gold chains: We learned to pity fools.

There was nothing better than action/adventure show ‘The A-Team’ in the 80s. Running for four years, the show followed a fictional group of ex-Special Forces agents turned soldiers of fortune, on the run from the US Army after being wrongly accused of being war criminals. What else is there to say, even?

The entire show was originally conceived around the character B.A. Baracus, played by none other than national hero turned GPS navigation system voice, Mr. T. Some of our favorite catchphrases came from his scary, yell-y mouth, including:

I love it when a plan comes together,” and “I ain’t gettin’ on no plane!

Since then, there has been a feature film interpretation, which we won’t be talking any more about, and a comic book series titled ‘The A-Team: Shotgun Wedding,’ which is confusingly intriguing.

Like the opening intro says: If you have a problem, and no one else can help, and you can find them, maybe you can hire: The A-Team. We believed it, and the world has felt a little bit safer since 1983. Somewhere in the back of our minds we know that Mr. T will always come to our rescue, when we need him:

As long as we don’t have the audacity to power-walk in front of him, which he hates for some reason:

Although, having someone shoot snickers bars at us from a tank sounds pretty good right now; we’re starving.
