Toby Griego Found Guilty On All 27 Counts
The jury in the Toby Griego rape trial heard about two hours of closing arguments on the morning of April 14th. They were then excused by Judge Russell Fagg to deliberate at 11:15 a.m.
At 2:31 p.m. the jury notified the bailiff that they had reached a verdict. This afternoon Toby Griego was found guilty on all 27 counts, 26 of which are felonies. The counts range from rape, assault, assault with a weapon, kidnapping and other serious crimes.
The Griego trial began testimony on April 7th and concluded on April 11th. During the trial week there were nearly 30 witnesses and nearly 400 exhibits presented to the court.
Closing arguments, the deliberation, and the reading of the verdict took place today. Toby Griego could face life in prison. The sentencing will be determined at a later date.
