Today is Veterans Day…and National Metal Day

As we honor the brave men and women who have served our country on Veterans Day, keep in mind it's also National Metal Day.

Observed every year on 11/11, National Metal Day was inspired by a scene from the classic movie "This is Spinal Tap", during which Nigel Tufnel describes the custom volume knob on his amplifier that "goes to 11".

The annual observance began in 2011, when the VH1 Classic network declared 11/11/11 as "National Metal Day".  This year, they have taken the celebration to the next level with the introduction of the National Metal Dogs.
