The ever-evolving Todd Rundgren will show off his orchestral side with a pair of symphony shows in June.

Rundgren will journey to the hometown of Cheap Trick, Rockford, Ill., to perform two shows with the Rockford Symphony Orchestra on June 1 and 2 at the Coronado Performing Arts Center. These will be his first U.S. symphonic dates, but he did play two shows last year in the Netherlands with the Dutch Metropole Orchestra.

The longtime fan podcast Rundgren Radio is presenting the shows and hosting a “Family Reunion Party” where Rundgren fans will gather on May 31 in advance of the performances. They’ve put an event page online with discount hotel information and other helpful links.

Rundgren Radio also did a special show to discuss the upcoming symphony dates and you can listen to that here.

It’s a busy year of activity for Rundgren, who has been revisiting the deeper parts of his catalog with special tour dates. He’ll tour again this summer with old friend Ringo Starr, playing guitar for Ringo’s ‘All-Starr Band.’
