Weekend of Wellness in Billings at MetraPark Will Highlight the Health Benefits of Travel
Experiencing new cultures and exploring new places are great ways to exercise the brain and may even contribute to healthy aging, according to a Special Report on Healthy Traveling, according to the Mayo Clinic Health Letter.
That is why Cook Travel Station is the title sponsor of the first Montana Health & Fitness Expo at the Montana Pavilion at MetraPark on Aug. 21 and 22.
This inaugural Expo is a two-day event focused on bringing the community closer to all aspects of health and fitness, from mind, body, spirit and everything in between.
Cook Travel Station, 1844 Broadwater Ave., is dedicated to providing its customers with all the health benefits that come from relaxing, adventurous. There is nothing that can align your mind, body, and spirit quite like lying on a beach, especially when someone does all of the stressful planning and legwork for you.
According to passporthealthusa.com, there are four main reasons that traveling is good for you:
- Learning: Traveling to distant lands provides a rich learning experience and an increased cultural awareness. Also, students who study abroad are nearly twice as likely to finish a college degree.
- Happiness: Not only is traveling an immediate stress reliever, it can also increase your ability to reduce stress long after the trip is over.
- Relationship Building: Travel helps to strengthen relationships by building lifelong memories together.
- Wellness: Travel has been linked to a lower risk of heart disease. For example, a nine-year study of 12,000 middle-aged men found that men who took at least one vacation per year were 30 percent less likely to die from heart disease than their non-traveling peers.
Make your way to the Montana Pavilion at Metrapark on Aug. 21 and 22 to the Montana Health & Fitness and 50+ Expo to see Cook Travel Station and dozens of other local vendors dedicated to maximizing your total health and fitness.
