These days you hear a lot about runs and walks to benefit a number of causes. It makes sense given so many Americans need some motivation to get out and move. When I heard about Color Me Rad coming to the Metra on the 19th, I started looking around to see what exactly the benefit was.

It turns out that Color Me Rad is simply about having a good time. Celebrating the near end of the running season with a goofy, fun, and most definitely colorful 5k run. If you've never been, you might want to check out the video to see what's in store for you. You might start the day nice and clean, but I guarantee you will not finish that way. Eight different "color stations" along your path will make sure you're in the Color Me Rad Spirit.

Here's what the organizers have to say about the point behind Color Me Rad on their official website:

Color Me Rad is loosely based on the Hindu Festival of Colors, otherwise known as Holi. The festive colors used are a sign of winter’s end and spring’s new beginnings. Or in the case of RAD; the color represents the end of lame runs and the beginning of fun runs.
