What Do Women Really Want For Valentine’s Day?
Valentines Day, a day of love and romance all in the name of Saint Valentine, is just over a week away and I bet most of you guys haven’t even begun to think about what you will get that special lady in your life (if you have one).I am a pretty simple kid of woman (isn’t my husband lucky). Flowers are great (though they die within a week or so) and candy is sweet (the fact I am trying to lose weight, not a good idea) and jewelry always makes me smile. But as I get older and become more sensible, my kids call it old age, I have come to realize that I want more basic things for Valentines Day.
For example, my dish washer just broke, that would make a great Valentines surprise for me.
I would also love to come home from my job (or the rat race as I like to call it) and for just one day, there are no dirty dishes, no laundry and no problems to solve, no phone calls to answer. Just a nice steak dinner and a cold glass of wine waiting for me.
I asked all of the women married, and not married, at the station to tell me what they really want for Valentines Day and this is what they said.
Bethany: I would love a weekend trip to our cabin up at Red Lodge, where I don’t have to do any of the cooking! I always enjoy a new watch, or an amazon gift card so I can download a new book to my Kindle app on my iPad. I love to get Orchids, although I’m not the best at keeping them alive. The best gift ever though, would just be to enjoy time alone together, dinner and a movie, then out for ice cream afterward.
Sandy: A weekend getaway with a spa treatment, dinner and relaxation is a great thing… even in town works but going away is better! And if he’s already booked the tickets for us that’s even better.
Staci: Well, I would love to have a nice, relaxing weekend get away! Someplace away from here –like Chico Hot Springs, get a massage, go in the pool, have a delicious dinner and a bottle of wine and not have to do ANYTHING….oh, and chocolate somewhere thrown in the mix. A trip to Red Lodge, to the cool Blue Sky Cabins for rent would be nice too.
Jessica: A Massage from professional, or from my spouse either way, spa treatment, nail package, jewelry, chocolate covered strawberries, gift certificate for shopping (even an amazon card would be cool), weekend trip to red lodge,
Skiing trip, New Car!
Something men can do for free is make certificate booklet for their wife to use in 2014 that includes things like dishes can be redeemed at any time with no notice, same for laundry-cooking-cleaning-free girls night out paid by your spouse-ask me for $100 to go buy some new shoes and it’s yours while I watch the kids-etc….
Julie: I would love it if my honey would vacuum the floor and fix me dinner for 1 day!! His excuse is he can’t cook but a warmed up can of soup would warm my heart!
Denise: Well, I really love flowers. They are old school and make me smile for days. I would love something that shows he knows me like a pedicure at a salon I love or my car detailed cuz it’s something I hate doing. Just anything that shows he didn’t just phone it in, he actually pays attention.
Kim: I’d want him to take me on an adventure! Road trip to a surprise destination with wine, champagne, and snacks! Even a drive to a beautiful look-out point and pretend we’re in high school by making out to an old 90s mixed tape that he made.
