Yellowstone County Deputies Agree To New Contract
Since June of 2013 the Yellowstone County Sheriff’s Department have been working without a contract. After several re-writes an approved two year contract was accepted Tuesday, April 29th by the 43 Yellowstone County deputies that are involved.
The contract was signed by county commissioners Tuesday morning.
It’s really good. It’s been a year-long process and to have that process put together and finally execute it, is very good- County Commissioner, Bill Kennedy
The deputies asked for a raise in pay and also asked that a comp time clause be included. They got both of those requests written into the new contract. The deputies will receive a 5.13% increase in salary as well as 80 hours per year of time off.
County commissioners will now be working on the Yellowstone County Detention Officers, the Road and Bridge Department and the MetraPark maintenance staff as all have expiring contracts coming due by the end of this summer.
The Yellowstone County Sheriff’s Department contract expires at the end of June of 2016.
