Chris Cornell Joins Tom Morello For Partial Audioslave Reunion
Morello was performing a (seemingly not so) acoustic set at the El Corazon in Seattle as a benefit for 15 Now, a grass-roots organization that fought to raise the minimum wage locally. Together with Cornell, bassist Tim Commerford and drummer Brad Wilk, Audioslave issued three albums in the 2000s.
There were never any hard feelings, Morello said in 2007, despite the band's split. "You know, Chris I consider a good friend and I love that guy, you know, and we went through a lot together, both musically and personally," he said. "And it was, you know, my belief that the band's friendship and roots were deep."
Morello, Commerford and Wilk have also been part of Rage Against the Machine, though the band hasn't performed in some three years. Wilk would go on to sit in with Black Sabbath, while Morello has been touring with Bruce Springsteen. Cornell, meanwhile, released two solo albums before reuniting with Soundgarden in 2010.
