Rumors Swirl After Elon Jet Spotted in Missoula

Elon Musk’s private jet made an appearance on a tracker and landed right here in Missoula last weekend. That’s not a typo. Not Billings. Not Bozeman. Missoula.

It was the internet sleuths over at r/ElonJetTracker who first noticed it, posting flight path receipts that show Musk’s jet flying right into MSO. Naturally, it didn’t take long before the r/Missoula subreddit got to doing what it does best: baseless speculation and snarky comments.

Some people think he was en route to Paws Up, Montana’s five-star cowboy fantasy camp, where wealthy people can pretend to be rugged outdoorsmen without so much as picking up a shovel. Elon had rented out the whole place, one Redditor swore. Another speculated that he simply came here to “pet fluffy cows,” which, honestly, seems more plausible than anything Elon tweets.

Others were more underwhelmed. He heard that Montana was the Last Best Place and got worried that there was still a state he hadn’t ruined.

And we’re still waiting to hear why he was here. Maybe he’s prospecting real estate for a classified Tesla yurt. One theory: He may simply have needed a break from billion-dollar lawsuits. Or perhaps he just wanted a beer and a hike, like the rest of us.

Whatever fueled him, he (or at least his jet) was allegedly in our backyard for a moment. And just to add to the weirdness,a guy named Mike in Texas recently got mobbed by tourists who mistook him for Elon Musk. The poor guy got the whole celebrity treatment just for having the same face. So yeah, if Elon really was in Missoula, maybe he was a decoy?
