Billings’ Ales for Trails Hits 25 – Celebrate with Craft Brews and Good Times
Ales for Trails Celebrates 25 Years with Music, Beer, and Big Trail Dreams
One of Billings’ most beloved end-of-summer traditions is back, and this year it’s a big one. Ales for Trails returns Friday, September 5, 2025, from 5 to 10 p.m. at ZooMontana, marking its 25th anniversary with more beer, more food, more music, and an even bigger purpose.
Come enjoy great craft beer, live music under the ZooMontana sky, and plenty of fun activities scattered around the grounds. For 2025, organizers at Billings TrailNet are pulling out all the stops.
The Soul Funk Collective will headline the main stage, bringing a fresh, dance-worthy sound to keep the crowd moving. The always-popular Silent Disco is back, along with giant beer pong, cornhole, a 360-degree photo booth, and Rock the Bike.
Sip some suds for a great cause.
Beer enthusiasts will have over 50 local and regional microbrews to sample, from hop-heavy IPAs to smooth stouts. This year also debuts “beer pretzel necklaces” (aka snacklaces), so you’ll have a salty sidekick while you sip. As a salty-snack-while-drinking person, I love this.
If beer’s not your thing, no worries. There will be wine, seltzers, and N/A options too. This year will feature a fantastic food truck lineup, too.
Proceeds from Ales for Trails directly support Billings’ trail system, including an exciting new project, the Stagecoach Trail, which would connect Rimrock Road to the top of the Rims along Zimmerman Trail. Every ticket, every raffle entry, and every pint poured helps build a stronger, more connected Billings.

Tickets are on sale now at alesfortrails.com and local retailers like The Base Camp, The Spoke Shop, Canyon Creek Brewing, and Thirsty Street Brewing. Ales for Trails is 21+.Cheers to 25 years, Billings!
