Billings Shelter Features Honey, A Lovable Pup Ready For Adoption
If you need something sweet in your life, something with four legs, an adorable face, and a big heart, you've got to check out Honey, our featured Wet Nose Wednesday adoptable pet from Yellowstone Valley Animal Shelter in Billings.
Honey recently arrived at YVAS as a stray.
All strays are held for 72 hours, with the hope that their owners reach out to the shelter to reclaim their lost pet. Many are reunited, but far too often, they are not. YVAS then runs through a complete checklist on each pet, with their veterinarian staff performing a spay or neuter, updating their vaccinations, etc., shaving any matted fur or treating skin conditions, and preparing the dogs for adoption.

Honey is a one-year-old Airedale Terrier mix.
I feel like the emphasis on her bloodline guess should be "mix", but you can see a hint of Airedale Terrier features with her cute whiskered chin. She's a medium-sized dog, who might fill out a bit as she outgrows her puppy stage - remember, she's only 1.

Honey was a little shy around me (a guy), but loved the women in our office. Lindsay Dillon, Volunteer Coordinator at YVAS, said Honey was well-behaved at a recent YVAS outreach event at the KOA. She likely does well with other pets and kids.

Last week, YVAS was overflowing with cats and kittens. Those numbers have stabilized, but now they have an overabundance of adoptable dogs. Browse all of their current inventory HERE.
Adopting a shelter pet is so rewarding. In the past year, we've adopted two dogs from YVAS, and both of them are awesome. Thank you, Shipton's Big R, for supporting animal adoption in the Billings area.
