Montana State University Extension in Yellowstone County invites you to the Winter Ag Series, which will take place on Thursday, February 13, 2025, starting at 10:30 am in the 4-H Building at MetraPark.
This event offers informative lectures tailored to our agriculture community. The schedule includes three engaging sessions on important topics.
Rangeland Weed Management
From 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., join Dr. Jane Mangold, an MSU Professor and Extension Invasive Plant Specialist, as she discusses identifying ventenata, managing this invasive species, and earning a Private Pesticide Applicator credit.
Forage Seedling and Stand Establishment
From 11: 30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., Dr. Hayes Goosey, an MSU Assistant Professor and Extension Forage Specialist, will share practices for enhancing seedling establishment in forage fields.
Postpartum Cattle Nutrition
From 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. Dr. Megan Von Emon, an MSU Beef Cattle Specialist, will dive into the nutrient requirements for cows/heifers post-calving and how cattle nutrition impacts calf health and growth.
