Stones Found in Popular Chocolate Sold at Albertson’s in Montana
Picture this: you sink your teeth into your favorite chocolate bar, only to be met with an unwelcome crunch that completely ruins your sweet moment.
One popular chocolate bar has hit a bit of a roadblock with a recall due to an unexpected object hiding within it.
The Unfortunate Recall
Some Tony's Chocolonely Chocolate Bars have been recalled over concerns of foreign materials. And what's causing the commotion? Believe it or not – small stones have been found in some of the chocolate bars!
Precautionary Steps
Although there haven't been any reported injuries from consuming these chocolate bars, Tony's Chocolonely Inc. of New York is taking proactive measures by voluntarily recalling two of their products to ensure consumer safety. The affected chocolate bars were sold nationwide in stores, including at Albertson's across Montana, on the company's website, and on Amazon.
Identifying the Recalled Chocolate Bars
If you've purchased Tony's Chocolonely Everything Bar or the Dark Chocolate Almond Sea Salt Candy Bar in 6.35-ounce (180-gram) packaging recently, you should check the lot code/date pair/UPC numbers on the product label.
The impacted batches feature the following codes: 163094/2-Apr-26/858010005641, 162634/28-Feb-26/858010005641, and M162634/28-Feb-26/850011828908. It's important to note that this recall only pertains to these specific lot codes, and no other Tony’s products are involved in this recall.
The Stone Mishap
The unexpected recall is a result of 12 consumer reports regarding small stones being found in the chocolate bars. These stones managed to slip through the filtration process during third-party almond harvesting and processing. Notably, all incidents related to stone contamination have occurred outside the United States and Canada.

What To Do if You Have the Recalled Product
If you have purchased any of the recalled Tony's Chocolonely products, don’t eat them! Toss them in the trash or return the products to the store where you purchased them for a full refund.
