How To Beat The Summer Heat In Montana
Things are heating up across Big Sky Country... literally.
While the rest of the country has been under a heatwave the last several days, things are starting to warm up here in Montana and that has many folks scrambling to try and find ways to stay cool. Several homes and apartments in Montana aren't equipped with AC, so on days when the temps reach 90 and higher, it can get a little toasty.
We live in an apartment with one of those AC units in the living room that tries its best to cool the entire apartment. Even with the AC unit, we still have a couple of fans that we run to try and circulate the cool air.

What are the best ways to stay cool during a hot Montana summer?
There are a few different options when it comes to staying cool during the summer and some are a bit more expensive than others. If you're a homeowner and don't have a cooling system in your house, the most expensive option would be to have one installed, however, that can cost thousands of dollars.
Another option is one of those portable AC units that comes with a big long tube that you hook to the window. They work very well, but you will certainly see a difference in your electricity bill.
Swamp Coolers are another option and range in price and size, although if you have a small area to cool, one might just do the trick. Of course, there is the old standby and that is the box fan. Fans range in price from a little to a lot depending on the make and model. However, if you are on a budget, a couple of fans might be your best bet.
