Copper Onion Bistro

This new bistro is located where 1882 Commons was located in Shiloh Crossing. The owners didn’t change much of the décor from when it was 1882 Commons, but they added some softer lighting and more tables and of course, a brand-new menu.

There’s an array of fancy martinis, bubbles, wine, beer, and other cocktails.

We started with the “armadillo eggs" from the starters section of the menu.

This appetizer was confusing to us because I immediately asked the server “Do armadillos lay eggs?”

The server giggled and said this dish has nothing to do with eggs at all. It’s basically cheese and bacon in jalapeno boats. Okay cool, they were a good start to our dinner. Our table suggests they fry the jalapeno, but that's just us.

We ordered the Shrimp Scampi for the group of 4 and it was my absolute favorite dish on the table. The sundried tomatoes were the perfect tangy touch to this appetizer. Highly recommend this one!

The main course arrived and our mouths were salivating.

I ordered the Saffron Chicken which was plated beautifully. I do have to admit- I've never tasted saffron until last night and I'm not a fan. This herb has a plasticy taste to me, unfortunately. But the whipped potatoes and butternut squash were absolutely wonderful.

My spouse took the safe route and ordered the bacon cheese burger and said it was one of the best burgers he’s had in awhile. He scarfed it down, and is a part of the clean plate club.

Our table ordered a round of different desserts to try, and let me say right now- they are rich, unique, and will definitely satisfy your sweet tooth.

In the photo we have Flourless Chocolate Torte, Red Velvet Cheesecake, and The Huckleberry Cheesecake.

Our table of 4 all agreed the Huckleberry cheesecake was the best dessert at the Copper Onion Bistro. It was tangy, crunchy and the perfect way to top off the palate.

I highly recommend checking this new Bistro out located in Shiloh Crossing across from Sophie’s.

The only thing I would change about the ambiance of the bistro is adding sound proofing to the garage side. The glass was ricocheting noise and it was hard to hear people at our table of 4. Maybe the owners can add softer seating too. The chairs were not very comfy. Otherwise, the service was great, the food tasted good. And we had a good time.
