I just got back from my first visit to Washington DC.  What an awesome town.  If you've never been to our nation's capital, you owe it to yourself to go at least once. The entire city is poignant reminder that, in spite of the vitriol, we are lucky to live in a democracy, with checks in balances in place to assure that no one person or group can hoard the power. We bitch about it, but it is one of, if not the greatest form of government in the history of man.

There's so many things to do in DC and it's hard to squeeze it all in one week.  My personal highlights include the Ford's Theater tour, the Lincoln Memorial, Arlington National Cemetary, a ton of the Smithsonian museums, The Supreme Court and I even got a tour of the capital from Senator Tester's office.

I also had the chance to check out an awesome band called Arcade Fire.  They are a 12 piece group.  Any band with 12 musicians on stage can't possibly suck.  Here's a few pictures from the trip.
