Montana Governor Steve Bullock announced yesterday that additional measures to help "curtail the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic in Montana" will go into effect beginning this Friday

But, according to the press release, Felton said that more restrictions could still be implemented if the COVID-19 infections begin to increase.

In a press conference today (Monday 11/9), Yellowstone County public health officer John Felton said that no additional restrictions to the October 12/14 order will be introduced today. But then said he "could not rule out the possibility" that additional restrictions and closings could be implemented as early as "later these week."

Financial resources from Montana's coronavirus relief fund will be given to Yellowstone County officials, to assist in compliance of the public health order, according to Governor Bullock

Billings' hospitals were more than 90 percent full over the weekend, according to Montana DPHHS reports, with Billings Clinic and St. V's hitting new COVID-19 daily records.

Last week, Felton announced that "immediate" restrictions would be put in place if an average of 50 new cases per 100,000 residents a day was reported. Yellowstone County ended last week with an average of more than 61 new positive COVID-19 cases per 100,000 residents.

Beginning this upcoming Monday (10/12), RiverStone Health will again be offering free COVID-19 testing, but the location is moving.

According to a press release today (Monday 10/5) from RiverStone Health, Yellowstone County's public health department, we hit new records in the past month with regard to COVID-19.

850 new cases of the novel coronavirus were reported in Yellowstone County last month, with more than 300 of those cases still active as of July 31.
