They'll get to see their kids walk across that stage and be handed their diplomas. Parents in Billings, Montana are celebrating the news that graduation ceremonies will now move forward at the Metra arena in Billings. This, as parents elsewhere across the state are wondering why they can't do the same for their 2020 high school seniors.
Evelyn Pyburn with The Big Sky Business Journal and I were chatting about this earlier in the week. It really sounds like a win-win. High school students here in Montana can get college credits while still in high school, and they save time and money down the road.
Billings School District 2 is asking voters for a mill levy increase to help fund new textbooks and other digital curriculum in the high schools, including career-focused programs. SD 2 Superintendent Greg Upham gave his pitch to the voters ahead of the May 7th mail-in ballot, and took questions from listeners on the radio.
