UFO

UFO was a band to contend with back in the seventies and never got the recognition that they deserved. Pete Way of Fast Way was  their bass player. And Michael Schenkr left the Scorpions to become their guitar player and still played with them as late as 2002 Sharks album...

Former UFO bassist Pete Way is celebrating his recent triumph over prostate cancer by inviting a few famous friends to guest on his next solo album, due in early 2015.

The bassist has learned from his past indulgences, and urges men to get tested before it's too late.

Todays lost band is UFO. They have been around for a long long time and put out some good new music but don't seem to get any radio play. The song I have picked today is from their cd Walk On Water and it is a great cd that came out in 1995...

UFO released their third album, 'Phenomenon,' in May of 1974.

When UFO released their first live album, the poetically named ‘Strangers in the Night,’ in January 1979, they surely couldn’t have guessed it would stand the test of time as one of history’s greatest concert documents — let alone mark the apex of their entire career.

Pete Way, the founding bassist for UFO, has been diagnosed with prostate cancer. But he expects to make a full recovery.

Over 40 years on, UFO remain one of hard rock's most treasured, and yet most under appreciated bands ever. Though the band has seen its share of personnel changes over the years, founding drummer Andy Parker and original singer Phil Mogg are clearly in it for the long haul. Thursday night at the Tangier in Akron, Ohio, neither one showed any real signs of wear and tear.
