    The Legend Band

I almost got to open for AC/DC at Kiel Auditorium in St. Louis, Mo.

I was a guitar player in The Legend Band. At the time, there were really two good bands in the area -- The Legend Band and Troop.

Troop was invited to open for AC/DC but had a previous engagement and turned it down, so we got the gig.

After thinking about it, Troop decided it was a pretty big deal and decided to take it.

    I don't blame them.

    7-11

Right before moving to Montana, I worked overnights at a 7-11. You're the only guy in the store in the middle of the night.

    Motorcycles

I owned two Hondas before I had my first Harley. I bought it brand new in 1980. It was a Super Glide. Got it for $4,000.

    My Hair

People have often asked me how long I've been growing my hair. It was longer when I played music.

When I first came to Montana, I had a couple of jobs. I went to work for a beer company. You couldn't have a mustache on your lip, hair on your collar or a beard, so I had a burr cut.

So, when I got in radio, and I don't even remember when that was, I started growing my hair. My mom cut 7 inches once. She was a beautician and said she wanted to cut the split ends off. I didn't care. It was my mom.

I feel lucky to have my hair. Two of my brothers are going bald. I ain't got bald spot one.
