Today, at 4:43 PM, officers were dispatched for a report of a 39-year-old male who was shot near 1st Avenue South & South 31st Street.

The male was taken to an area hospital for treatment by a private citizen.

The male was "extremely uncooperative" with law enforcement, and medical personnel, and left against medical advice.

BPD is now following up on several leads.

The incident, according to BPD, was not a random encounter, with the male and shooter appearing to know each other.
