A 65-year-old Billings woman was taken to St. Vincent Healthcare following a freak accident shortly before 1 p.m. Monday at 3534 Granger Ave. W., according to Billings Police Sgt. Shawn Finnegan.

At 12:57 p.m., police officers were dispatched to a personal injury that occurred in the area of 3534 Granger Ave. W. that involved a 2011 silver Cadillac passenger car driven by a 59-year-old woman. She had stopped her car to help get a dog in another vehicle, according to Finnegan. In doing so, she apparently failed to put the Cadillac in park and it began to roll backwards.

A 65-year-old woman who was mowing her lawn in the area attempted to stop the Cadillac as it rolled backwards but fell to the ground and the Cadillac rolled over her.

The 65-year-old was awake and breathing and did not appear to have life-threatening injuries,  when police arrived. She was taken to St. Vincent Healthcare for medical attention.

The incident remains under investigation.
