The great Hunter S. Thompson once wrote that "the music business is a cruel and shallow money trench, a long plastic hallway where thieves and pimps run free and good men die like dogs.  There is also a negative side."  He could have easily said the same thing about the radio industry.

As shady as the radio racket is, I am lucky to work with some great people here at the Hawk.  For starters, we have Sam Talkington who is among the coolest mofos on the planet.  That dude knows everyone.  If you've lived in Billings for over 10 years and you don't know Sammy, you need to get out more.

Our Program Director is a gigantic pain in the ass, but he's still a good guy.  Our General Manager makes us sit through way too many meetings, but he's not a slimy sales type like most suits are.  And we have a bunch of hot chicks on our sales staff too.

It could be a lot worse.  I could be working with Spanish radio shock jock Piolin.  If you've never heard of him, that's because you speak English.  He's the Howard Stern of spanish radio.  And evidently, he's the biggest jerk on the planet.  A group of six former co-workers just filed a lawsuit against him, alleging that he forced them to watch him take a dump.  I need my job as much as the next guy, but the day my boss makes me watch him drop a deuce is the day I quit.

Piolin also, reportedly, bit his co-workers and rubbed his junk on them.  So next time your boss chews you out or your idiot colleague takes credit for your work, just be thankful that you've never seen him dropping the kids off at the pool.
