Greetings from The MOOSE Morning Show! (It's hard to believe I've been around this joint for 26 years.) I'm always honored that you've spent part of your day with 94.7 The MOOSE. We try really hard every day to capture the best of the Gallatin Valley and for me, that means waking up at 4:30 am and heading downtown to our studios. After living in the Valley for 30 years, Bozeman never gets dull. Sure, it's a lot bigger than when I was in college at Montana State but it's never been 'dull'. If you ever come across something you think I should know about, don't hesitate to reach out. Could be a new band I need to hear or a new restaurant you think I should try. I'd love to hear about it. You can always call the studio at (406) 587-0951 during the MOOSE Morning Show from 6am to 10am. If you'd like to reach out via email, no problem. Just send an email HERE. I really do check my email and will address any issues you might have. Suggestions, questions and comments are always welcome. Really. -Michelle
SNOW ALERT: Up to 10″ Possible for SW Montana Mountains by Tuesday
Fall. Winter. Fall. Winter. 'Tis the dance Montana generally does through the month of October. High elevations in southwest Montana could see up to 10 inches of fresh snow by Tuesday morning...so I guess that means we're back to winter!
There’s ONE Fee-Free Day Remaining for Yellowstone in 2021 and Tourons Should be Gone by T…
Free entrance days to our National Parks are awesome. They're even better when the place is not a zoo, with bumper-to-bumper traffic. November is that time so plan now for the last fee-free day of 2021.
The History and Meaning of the Montana Flag
It's been modified a couple of times over the years but the flag of Montana (as we know it) was essentially born in 1905. But Montana became a state in 1889. What gives?
Montana’s September Air Quality: Some of the Worst in America
With burning eyes, runny noses, and our AQIs hitting the 170s on several occasions in recent days...Montanans could really go for an old-school, heavy snowstorm right about now. A big one. With many inches of accumulation.
For Sale: 4 Well-Known Montana Bars and Restaurants
If you've ever wanted to own your own bar or restaurant, now may be the time to seize the day. Montana establishments that haven't changed hands in a very long time are on the market.
Big Sky: Some of the Worst Air Quality in Montana This Week
It's gorgeous, but it's smoky in Big Sky this week. It's been at unhealthy levels off and on for weeks now. Air Quality Index numbers have been hovering in the 120s.
POSTPONED: 24 Bands at ‘Cleavesfest’ in Huntley, MT
This two-day festival has been postponed. We will update at soon as we have further details about rescheduling and dates.
MONDAY: Montana Air Quality Some of the Worst in U.S.
Wildfire smoke has returned with a vengeance to most of Montana. Bozeman's AQI was as high as 175 on Monday morning...and that wasn't even the worst level in the state.
December 6th is “Death Metal Day” in Billings, Kinda
Let's see...Gwar, Eyehategod and Napalm Death all at Pub Station in Billings, in one night. I won't be there but let your metalhead friends know what's up.
Check Your Freezer: Chicken Recalled, Possible Salmonella
Ever buy frozen chicken cordon bleu for an easy dinner? Me too. CHECK YOUR FRIDGE. Several brands of these are currently being recalled by the USDA due to possible Salmonella contamination. You don't want Salmonella.
MT Travelers: Passport Renewal Wait Times Now 18 Weeks
August 2021: It now takes twice as long (door to door) as it did during the 'stay at home' period when a lot of us renewed our passports...dreaming of the day we could travel again. The State Department at least gets points for honesty.
Fire in Crazy Mountains (American Fork): Substantial Growth Possible
A major fire burning in the Crazy Mountains north of Livingston was started by lightning on July 17th and has burned nearly 15,000 acres. Hot, dry weather with a Red Flag Warning does not bode well for this and several other Montana fires.
