Update: This is an opinion-driven article, with information pulled from social media. After publishing, ownership reached out via email, however, we at Townsquare Media Billings do not feel it is appropriate to share the comments from that email.

We asked multiple times for an official statement after the ownership reached out, but they have not provided one.

It seems these days... you just can't "keep" the same place you've had for a while. What am I talking about? Since moving to Billings, the ONE thing I have been unsuccessful in is finding and KEEPING a long-term barber.

A Sudden Change

After the last 2 years of using the Man Shop on Grand, I got notified that the business owners have decided to close down this location temporarily... while they hire a fleet of new barbers for the shop.

The post, which was announced on their social media, stated:

We will be temporarily closed while we hire some outstanding Barbers and Stylists!
We are sorry for the inconvenience and thank our customers for your loyalty!
We can’t wait to be back cutting your hair!
We are excited to reopen with a great team for you! Stay tuned for our reopen date with new management and team!! If you know any barbers or stylists who aren’t allergic to working, like to be busy, and love what they do send them our way!
#nowhiring #stylist #barber #wewillbebackbetterthanever

Now, from the outside looking in... as a customer of this business... I have not personally seen the issues they claim. Though, seeing the ownership post "If you know any barbers or stylists that aren't allergic to working, like to be busy, and love what they do send them our way!" is a turn-off for me.

I've seen over the last 2 years very hard-working gals in that shop. YES, some came and went over time... as happens in business. But the ones who tended to me laughed with me, and had a fun time when I was in that shop... that is what I will remember.

What Do You Mean... "Remember"?

It's simple. Sure, they up and let the entire staff go... Sure, they up and let almost the entire staff walk out but claiming they were allergic to working, didn't like to be busy, and didn't like what they did... that is a false accusation of those people.

And, that simply doesn't sit well with me. So, if YOU worked at the Man Shop... and have gone elsewhere... shoot me an email. I'd love to know where you land... after all, I need somewhere new to go to.

What Are YOUR Thoughts?

I always ask this, as you know, but this really is a question I want to hear back on... Do you think this is fair treatment to the workers of the Man Shop? Have you had good or bad experiences there? Let us know on our Facebook Pages or on App Chat.
