Billings Police are investigating the "suspicious" death of a 38-year-old Billings man following a call Wednesday morning.

Officers were called to the 2300 block of Fox Drive at 3:15 a.m. to investigate an unresponsive male lying in the road. Officers located the man's body, but he was unresponsive. Medical personnel were unable to revive him, according to a news release from the Lt. Casey Hafner.

The unidentified man was taken to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.

There were no obvious signs of injury or wounds but due to the location, time and the fact that no witnesses were present the case is currently being investigated as suspicious, Hafner said.

An autopsy is pending and an investigation in ongoing.
