We could see these numbers rise even higher this year, and nobody would be surprised.

The Bozeman Yellowstone International Airport announced that they shattered their previous passenger record, set in 2019, with over 1.94 million passengers traveling to and from the airport. That's staggering, especially when you realize that the previous record in 2019 was just over 1.57 million passengers.

So how did the Bozeman Airport beat the previous record? It's pretty easily explained. First off, they built a whole new additional concourse that is well over 50,000 square feet, and with new gates for flights to dock at, they have plenty of room to spare. These new gates are not just for new flights for existing airlines, but Southwest Airlines entered the Montana market for the first time. Southwest Airlines' cheap, reliable, and fun destinations have helped them grow into one of the best flights out of Bozeman.

We believe this is just the beginning for the Bozeman Airport though. Don't be surprised if the Bozeman Airport sees over two million passengers in 2022, barring any setbacks. During this time of the year, there aren't too many flights but come spring/summer we will see not only returning seasonal flights that can end up being year-round but we will also probably hear some new seasonal flights being added to the airport that will only keep up the traffic.

I wouldn't be surprised if the Bozeman Airport has plans down the road to add another concourse to help accommodate flights and passengers coming to and from their destinations.

Either way, the Bozeman Airport is back to being the busiest and most exciting airport in the whole state of Montana.
