This release is regarding information for CO 24-32447, a shooting in the 100 block of South 38th Street, which has now been upgraded to a homicide investigation.

**6/3/24 - UPDATE: The Billings Police Department Investigations Unit has been advised the 49-year-old male succumbed to his injuries sustained in this incident. This investigation has now been upgraded to a homicide. **

On May 20, 2024, at 10:05 am the Billings Police Department responded to the 100 block of South 38th Street for a shooting. Officers arrived on the scene and located all of the parties involved. The initial investigation showed a disturbance occurred between a 49-year-old male and an 82-year-old male who are both residents of this neighborhood. During the interaction, the 82-year-old male shot the 49-year-old male.

The 49-year-old male was transported to a local hospital by AMR and the 82-year-old male is cooperating with investigators.

BPD Detectives have responded to the scene and will be handling the investigation. At this time an arrest has not been made.
