Helena Man Get 7.5 Years For Having Bombs & Silencer
From the United States Attorney's Office for the District of Montana:
A Helena man who admitted to illegally possessing homemade bombs and a silencer was sentenced to seven and a half years in prison, followed by three years of supervised release.
Logan Sea Pallister, 25, had pleaded guilty in January to charges of possession of unregistered destructive devices and an unregistered silencer. Chief U.S. District Judge Brian M. Morris oversaw the case.
According to the Court
In May 2022, the Helena Police Department received a tip from a juvenile girl. She reported that Pallister had multiple bombs, and firearms, and had been making threats about attacking a local high school. Disturbingly, Pallister had allegedly expressed a desire to carry out a Columbine-style attack. The juvenile also reported that Pallister showed her numerous firearms and a large amount of ammunition, including a homemade pipe bomb, and threatened to kill her if she disclosed his plans.
On May 31, 2022, around 4 AM, police officers arrested Pallister as he was approaching his car from his residence. At the time of his arrest, Pallister was wearing a black trench coat and carrying a bag, with eight loaded firearms concealed on his person. The firearms included semi-automatic pistols and AR-style rifles with high-capacity magazines.
A search of his car revealed nine more firearms, firearms accessories, body armor, trigger modification systems to increase gun fire rate, four homemade pipe bombs, and an oil filter that had been modified to function as a silencer.
Further investigation at Pallister’s residence uncovered a large stockpile of ammunition, additional firearms parts, and materials for making explosives.
