Mary The Rescue Dog And Her Puppies Are Ready For Homes
Billings' featured Wet Nose Wednesday Pet this week is an incredibly sweet dog named Mary. Mary is a two-year-old Kelpie mix. What's a Kepie? Well, the American Kennel Club says, "The Australian Kelpie is a lithe, active dog, capable of untiring work." And Mary has certainly been putting in long hours lately, because she's a new momma.

She was picked up as a stray back in the fall.
Animal Control found Mary roaming the streets of Billings back in November. She was pregnant at the time and ended up giving birth to EIGHT puppies (all of the puppies are now available for adoption, too).
Mary was part of the Yellowstone Valley Animal Shelters Foster Program.
Dozens of volunteers in the Billings area are involved in temporarily fostering pets in their homes for a variety of scenarios. Cases like Mary are a prime example. Mary and her puppies were socialized, fed, and cared for by a volunteer for months until the animals became ready for adoption.
