Joyful Jasmine is Ready for Adoption Now at YVAS in Billings

The most popular dog breeds in the United States fluctuate every few years. The French Bulldog has been at or near the top of the list for several years. Still, if we look back over the decades, the Labrador Retriever and the Golden Retriever are probably the best overall representations of "America's Dogs."

Our featured Wet Nose Wednesday pet this week is a Golden Retriever mix named Jasmine. Well, technically, her full name (bestowed upon her by the folks at Yellowstone Valley Animal Shelter) is Yellow Jasmine.

A perfect canine companion?

Jasmine is seven years old and arrived at YVAS as a stray with no microchip or name tag identifier. She's well-mannered, with an energy level that matches her age: not puppy-level hyper, nor senior-dog sleepy.

Izzy Zalenski, Community Engagement Coordinator at YVAS, said Jasmine does well with other dogs, cats, and kids. Just like a typical Golden Retriever, this dog loves everybody and everything.

It's raining cats and dogs at Yellowstone Valley Animal Shelter.

YVAS is currently full of adoptable pets, with 17 dogs and 13 cats available. To help ease crowding, they're running a spring adoption special. Now through April 21, you can adopt any adult pet at the shelter for just $25. A substantial savings, as adoptions are typically $165.
