Billings Murder: Local Woman Admits Guilt in Shocking Case
A 22-year-old woman from Billings has acknowledged her part in a violent robbery scheme that ended with a man losing his life, according to federal authorities.
Victim Lured to Pickup Location
Investigators say the incident traces back to the evening of May 16, 2025. Court filings describe how Violet Jeanee Littlelight arranged for a man to come pick her up at her home in Billings.
Before the meeting, prosecutors say Littlelight and two others had already discussed taking the man’s pickup. Their alleged plan was to steal the vehicle and later trade it to a dealer in Hardin in exchange for drugs or cash.

When the victim arrived, he reportedly grew uneasy about the situation. Officials say Littlelight reassured him that the others simply needed a lift. Based on that reassurance, he allowed them all inside the vehicle.
Knife Attack in the Alley
Documents filed in federal court state that the group directed the driver into an alley and asked him to stop the truck. Once the vehicle came to a halt, the victim was attacked with a knife and suffered numerous stab wounds to his upper body.
After the assault, prosecutors say the attackers removed him from the driver’s seat and left him in the alley. Authorities say he later died from the injuries.
Plans to Exchange Stolen Truck
Officials say the group then drove the pickup toward Hardin. Along the way, they reportedly changed their clothing and left the blood-stained items inside the truck.
The trio eventually arrived at a residence on the Crow Reservation. According to investigators, they attempted to clean the vehicle using supplies from the homeowner and disposed of clothing and other potential evidence in a burn pit.
Police Interrupt Evidence Cleanup
Law enforcement officers soon arrived at the scene while the truck was being cleaned. Authorities say the suspects ran away, leaving the vehicle behind.
The investigation involved multiple agencies, including federal investigators, Billings police officers, and Bureau of Indian Affairs officers.

Suspect Faces Life Sentence
Littlelight entered an admission in federal court to one charge tied to the robbery that led to the victim’s death. She now faces the possibility of spending the rest of her life in prison, along with substantial financial penalties and a period of supervised release after any sentence.
A federal judge will decide the punishment at a later hearing after reviewing federal sentencing guidelines and other legal considerations. Littlelight remains in custody while the case moves forward.
