Billings Driver Says He Was Robbed at Gunpoint by Riders He Picked Up

Billings Police Department officers arrested two men after a Wednesday morning robbery and kidnapping investigation that began with a call for help from a victim who said he had been assaulted and robbed.

Billings Victim Reports Assault, Kidnapping After Offering Ride

According to Sgt. Jeff Stovall, officers responded to the report around 7 a.m. on July 29. The victim told police that after he gave the suspects a ride, they assaulted him with a firearm, fired shots, and restrained him inside his own vehicle. The suspects then took off with his car and his personal belongings. The victim was treated at a local hospital for injuries from the attack.

Stolen Vehicle Found Near 4th Avenue South in Billings

Officers tracked the stolen vehicle to the 3900 block of 4th Avenue South. Witnesses told police they saw two men matching the suspects' description get out of the vehicle and go into a nearby house. Police set up a perimeter around the residence and took both men into custody without further incident.

Littlesun, Stewart Booked Into Yellowstone County Jail

Benjamin Littlesun was booked into the Yellowstone County Detention Facility on charges of robbery, two counts of assault with a weapon, aggravated kidnapping, and obstructing a peace officer.

Lyndale Stewart was booked into the Yellowstone County Detention Facility on an aggravated kidnapping charge and a probation hold.

Both men face charges only at this stage; neither has been convicted.

Billings Police, Yellowstone County Sheriff Continue Investigation

Billings police thanked the Yellowstone County Sheriff's Office, AMR, and other law enforcement partners who assisted with the case. The department says the investigation is still active.
