
Billings Police Identify Suspect in Southern Bluffs Homicide
On the morning of July 4, 2025, at approximately 10:31 a.m., Billings Police officers responded to the 6400 block of Southern Bluffs Lane after receiving a report of a suspicious death. Upon arrival, officers discovered the body of a 37-year-old woman inside a residence.
Detectives Process Scene, Interview Witnesses
Billings Police Department Detectives arrived on scene shortly after and began processing evidence and interviewing witnesses throughout the day. Their investigation quickly led them to identify a suspect connected to the case.
Suspect Identified, Vehicle Reported Stolen
Investigators identified the suspect as 40-year-old Anthony Ray Sullivan, a local man. It was determined that Sullivan had fled the scene in the victim’s vehicle, prompting authorities to issue an attempt to locate alert.

Suspect Arrested in Wyoming on Unrelated Charges
Law enforcement was soon notified that Sullivan had been arrested in Fremont County, Wyoming on unrelated charges. He is currently being held at the Fremont County Detention Center in Lander, awaiting extradition back to Yellowstone County.
Charges Filed Against Anthony Ray Sullivan
Sullivan is officially charged with Deliberate Homicide and Tampering with or Fabricating Physical Evidence. Further details regarding the investigation and timeline of events have not yet been released by officials.

The Billings Police Department expressed thanks to the Yellowstone County Sheriff’s Office, the Fremont County Sheriff’s Office in Wyoming, and the Wyoming Highway Patrol for their support and collaboration in the case.

Authorities have not yet released the identity of the victim.
