Alleviating Financial Strain for the Family

According to the Billings Education Association, the fundraiser is intended to help reduce immediate financial strain for the teacher and their family as they navigate recovery and next steps.

Family Expresses Thanks for Community Support

While the family has chosen to remain anonymous, they have shared their appreciation for the community’s response and the messages of support they have received since the incident. The association said the family has asked that their privacy be respected as they focus on healing and supporting one another.

Intended Use of Donations

The Billings Education Association stated that donations may help cover a range of needs, including legal costs, meals, and other day-to-day expenses that can arise during a medical and recovery period. The fundraiser is also intended to provide the family with some flexibility as circumstances continue to evolve.

How the Community Can Contribute

Many educators and community members have asked how they can offer support. The association says this fundraiser provides one option for those who wish to contribute directly to the family.

People who choose to share the fundraiser are encouraged to do so thoughtfully, keeping in mind the sensitivity of the situation and the privacy of those involved.
