A concerning situation unfolded Tuesday morning at a Montana elementary school, leading to a shelter-in-place order and the arrest of a suspect.
Parent Allegedly Threatens Staff and Students at Sacajawea Elementary
According to officials, the incident happened today, March 17, 2026, at Sacajawea Elementary in Great Falls.
Around 10:30 a.m., School Resource Officer Detective Kinsey received information about a potential threat involving a student's parent, who had allegedly made threats toward both school staff and students in the recent past.
School officials had previously tried to tell the parent to stay away from school property, but those efforts were reportedly ignored.
Detectives Respond On-Site as School Locks Down
Out of caution, the school was placed on shelter-in-place status while Detective Kinsey and Detective Fleming responded on-site, awaiting the suspect's arrival, as students and staff remained inside.

Suspect Arrested After Arriving on School Property
Just before noon, officers observed the suspect driving onto school property and quickly took the individual into custody without incident.
The suspect is now facing a felony charge of intimidation under Montana law and has been booked into the Cascade County Adult Detention Center.
