Montana Towns Show Up Big On National Best Places To Eat List
If you read anything that I write regularly, you know I spend at least half of my time talking about food.
I love food. I will plan my vacation around places to eat. My wife doesn't understand it, and to be honest, is a little embarrassed by it, but it's who I am, and my fellow foodies understand.
For many, the idea of living in Montana is some sort of rugged experience. Folks from other parts of the country have this idea that Montana is cowboy country (and it is). However, we also have indoor plumbing, electricity, and quite a few places to choose from when it comes to good eats.

Montana has a vibrant food scene. We have the Food Truck scene, we have mom-and-pop places that have been around for decades, and we have 5-Star restaurants that offer the latest and greatest in culinary creations. Heck, we're even home to the oldest family-owned restaurant in the United States.
And now, we're home to some of the best "Foodie Cities" in the country.
According to our friends over at WalletHub, Montana can lay two claims to fame when it comes to the best cities for food. While it won't come as a shock that the two cities just happen to be the most populated cities in Big Sky Country, what will come as a shock is who we beat out.
Both Billings and Missoula made the list, with Billings ranked 86th and Missoula ranked 93rd.
Not too shabby, right? I mean, both Montana cities are cracking the Top 100. However, what is the most impressive part is the bigger cities that we're ranked ahead of. Scrolling over the list, I see cities like Kansas City and Boise. I see Memphis and Mesa, all ranked behind the two Montana cities.
Now, keep in mind that both Kansas City and Memphis are considered two of the best barbecue cities in the world. So, the fact that both Montana cities are ranked ahead of them, well, that's impressive.
