Burglars Brazenly Targeted a Billings Motorsports Business
If you've lived in Billings for any length of time, it's easy to become somewhat jaded about local crime. Theft, vandalism, assault, and other crimes are so commonplace, that we barely take note. However, a recent theft at a motorsports shop raised my eyebrows, because it's bonkers. Even for Billings.
Billings Powersports at 1407 Central Ave was hit by a pair of thieves just after 4 AM Tuesday. In the cover of darkness, the two lowlifes didn't just break into the business... They hooked a chain to the front door and completely ripped the glass and steel door from the frame with a pickup truck.
BREAKING: The Blue Angels Are Coming BACK to Billings, Montana
The smash-and-grab took just a few moments.
The theft was captured on a security camera, giving us a frame-by-frame look at the fast-moving crime, which occurred in just a matter of minutes. A black, Chevrolet Z71 pickup raced into the lot and backed up to the door of the business. See more photos on Billings Powersports' Facebook page HERE.
Authorities are investigating.
The hoodie-wearing individuals quickly attached a heavy chain the to front door, yanking it off with the truck. The thieves then grabbed three child-sized dirt bikes and tossed them in the back of the truck, before speeding off.
The truck in question was reported stolen a few days ago. If you have any information regarding the individuals seen in the footage, please contact the Billings Police Department at (406) 657-8200.
