Enjoy Big Movie Theme Songs at Billings’ Free Symphony in the Park 6/25
One of Billings' signature summer events is rapidly approaching. The 51st annual Symphony in the Park is on Sunday, June 25th at Pioneer Park and this year's show promises some really fun music that all ages will enjoy.
From classics to modern-day hits.
Some people are really into symphony and classical music, while others are clueless. I admittedly fall into the latter category. However, it doesn't mean I don't appreciate the talent and intricacies of a full symphony. And my ears perk up a little more when it's songs I recognize, instead of obscure (to me) performances written by the masters.
The 51st annual Symphony in the Park will feature songs for everyone.
The setlist includes fun pieces from Phantom of the Opera, Avatar The Way of Water, The Little Mermaid, and Spiderman. Attendees will also recognize the Beatles hit Hey Jude and fans of spaghetti westerns will instantly recognize the Symphony's take of The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly, by Ennio Morricone. Patriotic tunes will include the Armed Forces Salute and The Stars and Stripes Forever by Souza.
The music starts at 4 pm on Sunday, June 25.
The Montana Fiddle Club kicks off the afternoon, beginning at 4 pm, followed by the Billings Community Band at 5. The Billings Symphony will take the stage at 7 pm. In between sets, concertgoers are encouraged to check out other activities, including:
- An Instrument Petting Zoo.
- A children's conducting contest.
- Multiple food trucks, wine and beverage vendors, and Wilcoxin's ice cream.
As always, the event is free. Bring your own chairs, blankets, and appropriate clothing for the weather. Reserved seating and parking are available for $10 and $15 respectively. Find out more HERE.
