Reddit is one of my favorite platforms in this digital age.

You can remain anonymous to a certain extent on Reddit and get your thoughts out into the world. It helps facilitate (sometimes) deeper conversations, and gets the masses thinking about topics that they normally wouldn't think about. It's enjoyable to read differing opinions on Reddit for this exact reason.

I stumbled upon a Reddit thread talking about the "high and mighty" multi-generational Montanans.

The reddit thread states,

Montana is Unique

With sayings like, "the last good place on earth," "the freedom state," etc. it's easy to assume that the residents in Montana are very proud of this state.

It is pretty, it does have many great things to experience, and some Montanans just don't want it to be ruined with "progress."

What's progress?

I'm assuming this has to deal with lack of job opportunities, land being taken away or expensive, real estate companies pushing residents out of their homes, unlivable wages, gun laws, recycling centers, hunting licensing- the list could go on and on. But these are just opinions. Who are we to say what is progress? And what's not?

The very popular TV show Yellowstone touches on this exact topic.

Let me know what you think about this topic.

Are multi-generational Montanans "high and mighty?" Are you a multi-generational Montanan? What worries you about others moving here and why?
