Week 6: Yellowstone County Football Outlook
Yellowstone County looks to bounce back after a losing week, going 4-5 underneath the Friday night lights.
Class A, B, and C highlights.
In Class C, Broadview will be back on the field after having a bye last week, as they’ll take on Bridger in Lavina. Custer-Hysham will look to bounce back against Absarokee after losing by 12 to Bridger. 4th in their division, Custer will look to hold onto their playoff spot as we head into the head of divisional play.
Class B will see Shepherd hosting Joliet for their homecoming night on Friday. Shepherd enters the game 2-3, coming off of a 36-21 loss win in Colstrip. Huntley will also be at home, as they’ll host Colstrip on their “Blackout” night. Huntley drops to 4th in the East side of the state after their 39-19 loss in Red Lodge.
Class A saw a pair of Ws from Central and Laurel, as the Rams came out with the win 55-0 over Sidney in Billings. They’ll head to Lewistown to take on Fergus, hoping to stay undefeated. Laurel showed their poise as they rebounded after a bad loss to the Rams the week before, beating Custer 28-7 in Custer.
The Locomotives will look to sound the horn as they welcome Fergus into the Train Yard. Lockwood was trampled by the Ponies 14-34, as they drop to 1-4 in conference play. They’ll take on the 0-5 Hardin Bulldogs in their Homecoming game on Friday.
AA action
Skyview and West faced off in a AA crosstown matchup, with West coming out on top 47-7 after a dominating performance. West will look to continue their undefeated run as they take on the 3-2 Hawks in Bozeman. Skyview will take on CMR in Great Falls during their homecoming, possibly without their star back Bjornstad after he suffered an ankle injury in the first half against the Bears. Senior took the L from the Bison, losing 20-42 in the Falls. They’ll play on Thursday night as Belgrade will come back into town after losing to Skyview two weeks ago.
