The Mint in Martinsdale: Now We’re Cooking with Beef Tallow
I had "Duck Dynasty" in mind with this one...except for- instead of peanut oil...now we're cooking with beef tallow. Here's why that is significant.
But first, here's the news that caught my eye (full Facebook post is below).
The Mint: Big news from The Mint at Martinsdale—we’ve made the switch to 100% beef tallow for all our fried foods! That means crispier fries, juicier chicken, and the richest flavor possible, just like the good old days. No seed oils, no compromise—just pure, golden goodness. Come taste the difference for yourself!
The Mint has some great food, by the way. They use locally raised, USDA certified Wagyu beef for their burgers. You can usually catch a good street dance out front in the summers, too. (By the way, they get their beef from the Avalanche Ranch!)
So why does it matter that they're using beef tallow instead of oil? Well, a lot of us think the beef fat gives things like french fries a much better flavor. And, there's a growing consensus that beef tallow is healthier, too. One of the big voices pushing that message is none other than RFK, Jr- President Trump's pick to lead the US Department of Health & Human Services.
So what does a potential RFK cabinet seat mean for Montana ranchers?
Here's what former Montana Stockgrowers President Bryan Mussard with Reminisce Angus Beef told us back in November.
