It seems like Pearl Jam bassist and Missoula resident Jeff Ament is always up to something in this town - whether that's advocating for better access to skate parks or working with Kettlehouse Brewing on a new beer or teaming up with fellow Missoula-based musician John Wicks of Fitz and the Tantrums on a new project.

The dude's always doing stuff! And this past Friday, Jeff Ament's new project just unveiled its first EP - and it's got a very cool Montana theme going.

Jeff Ament and Original Missoula Punks Have Released A New EP

The name of the band is P.E.S.T., and of course you've got Jeff Ament on bass. But the rest of the band is made up of some notable local names too - Dave Parsons of the Juveniles on vocals, Charlie Beaton of the Damned and VTO on guitar, Erika Frederickson of VTO on backup vocals, and Matt Bainton of Voodoo Horseshoes on drums.

The Missoulian has got more background on each of the members, including the fact that before Ament moved to Seattle and joined Pearl Jam (probably a good career move), he was in a punk band called Deranged Diction in Montana back in the '80s.

And another added bonus - each of the songs on the EP center around Montana in some way, with titles like "Not So Great Falls," "Havre Has It?," and "Be Good to Butte." You can listen to it on bandcamp right now, or if you want a physical copy, you can find a 7" vinyl at Ear Candy Music.

Also, notice that they're calling it E.P. 1. Think there could be an E.P. 2 in the works?
