One automaker is attempting to shock drivers with a killer ad designed to stop texting while driving.

Moviegoers in Hong Kong were treated (in a way) to an advertisement/public-service message from Volkswagen. We are assuming that you do not text and drive, but we bet this would change your behavior if you did.

NOTE: Make certain that you have watched the video before you read the rest of this post.

After most of the attendees in the theater sat down, the technicians behind the scenes began playing the ad, which starts with the point of view of someone sitting in the driver's seat of a car. While the trailer was playing, technicians sent everyone in the theater a mass text massage. Audience members looked down at the the same time to check their phones and, while their eyes weren't on the movie screen, the car crashes.

Lesson learned.
