Native March in Billings
Native American activists marched through downtown Billings during a snowstorm to bring awareness to drug abuse and domestic violence — two issues that disproportionately affect their communities.
It’s been 40 years since the original Longest Walk, which spanned from San Francisco to Washington, D.C. More recent iterations include Monday’s Billings leg, which has taken three years.
The walks were organized by Dennis Banks, a co-founder of the American Indian Movement who died in 2017.
