NBC’s ‘Rosemary’s Baby’ Scares Up Zoe Saldana in First Promotional Pics and Teaser
NBC has made a few bold choices over the last year to combat its weak run of pilots, but the news of 'Guardians of the Galaxy' babe Zoe Saldana leading a miniseries remake of iconic horror thriller 'Rosemary's Baby' more than caught our attention. Now check out Zoe in the first photos from NBC's terrifying new remake, along with 'Suits' star Patrick J. Adams!
Via Entertainment Weekly, the first look at 'Rosemary's Baby' only reveals so much, though we can see an an attempt to evoke the 1968 Roman Polanski film of the same name with Mia Farrow. It even appears as if Zoe Saldana's Rosemary will go through a bit of a hair change to match the look of the original film. Elsewhere in the remake miniseries, ‘Awake’ and ‘Harry Potter‘ baddie Jason Isaacs will play villainous neighbor and warlock/coven-leader Roman Castevet, with ‘Suits‘ star Patrick J. Adams playing Rosemary’s husband, Guy.
Apart from shifting the New York setting to Paris, the four-hour NBC remake will otherwise follow the 1968 film’s plot of a young couple who struggle to become pregnant before the resulting conception drives Rosemary to increased paranoia toward her husband and the neighbors’ intentions for the child. Scott Abbott and James Wong (‘The X-Files,’ ‘American Horror Story‘) wrote the screenplay for the four-hour reboot, while Agnieszka Holland (‘Treme‘) directs.
We don't yet have an official premiere date for NBC's 'Rosemary's Baby' beyond May 2014, but take a look at the first photos below, and tell us what you want to see from Zoe Saldana's version in the comments!
UPDATE: Via TVLine, we now have the first official teaser for the May premiere, though it certainly isn't much to look at. See the new 'Rosemary's Baby' for yourself above!
