And now for the most ridiculous story you might hear all week.  According to a new study from a group of Dutch scientists, the Beatles' classic "Rubber Soul" album would have been better if the band wasn't so baked.

Their research measured the effect of marijuana on creativity.  Of course, they concluded that pot doesn't make people more creative.  When participants were stoned, they scored lower on cognitive and brainstorming tests than they did before they smoked pot.  No surprise there.

However, in their conclusion, the team of scientists referenced "Rubber Soul", which ranks among the Beatles' most influential albums.  They noted that the Beatles reported smoked a tone of weed while recording the album.  Then, they compared it to the "Revolver" album when the Fab 4 had moved on to tripping acid. The research team asserted that the band took more creative risks when during Revolver.

Now I'm not one to argue with science.  Are they suggesting that we should all drop LSD the next time we need a boost of creativity?  And, if such a study is conducted, where do I volunteer to be one of the guinea pigs?

Here's another story about this groundbreaking study.
