Pitcher’s Bonkers Barehanded Catch Is Play of the Year
You want the best play of the baseball season? No need to watch a Major League game because it happened in the high school ranks.
Austin Trace, who pitches for Ohio's Canal Winchester High School, snagged a liner with his bare hand that came right back to him in a game against Bishop Watterson.
Wow. That ball was hit right on the button and Trace grabbed it as coolly as he probably grabbed a Gatorade after the game.
Even after the game, he didn't feel the need to make too big a deal out of the play, even if he deserves a Gold Glove for it.
Trace's team fell, 2-1, but they definitely won the battle of the highlights. Even with the Reds and Indians, it's safe to say Trace is the baseball star in the state.
