Pride Month In Montana: Billings Pride Fest 2024!

Tomorrow, June 1st, kicks off a month celebrating PRIDE worldwide. Pride Month (known as LGBT Pride Month originally) is dedicated to celebrating and commemorating lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender pride.

Pride Month started after the Stonewall riots, a series of gay liberation protests in 1969. You can learn all about those riots by clicking here.

International LGBT Pride Day

Not only do we have Pride Month, but, we also have International LGBT Pride Day on June 28th, specifically commemorating the anniversary of the Stonewall riots.

And, for those who may not know, Former President Bill Clinton in 1999 declared "the anniversary of [the] Stonewall [riots] every June in America as Gay and Lesbian Pride Month"... so this isn't anything new.

Plus, Former President Barack Obama in 2011 expanded the officially recognized Pride Month to include the entire LGBT community (heard more these days as LGBTQIA+).

Billings PRIDE FEST 2024

Back in the Magic City this June, Pride Fest 2024 is a weekend filled with events celebrating ALL in the LGBTQIA+ spectrum:

Pride Parade
- Downtown Billings - Saturday, June 22nd - 12 Noon to 1 PM
Pride Festival
- Downtown Billings Under Skypoint - Saturday, June 22nd - 1 PM to 7 PM
Drag Queen Story Hour
- Billings First Congregational Church - Saturday, June 22nd - 2 PM to 3 PM
Pride Afterparty (18+)
- Downtown Billings Under Skypoint - Saturday, June 22nd - 8 PM to 11 PM
Pride Worship Service
- Billings First Congregational Church - Sunday, June 23rd - 10:30 AM
